Welcome

We would like to share the story of a young man who walked in the centers doors one afternoon. He shared with us that his girlfriend was pregnant. Certainly not what they were expecting! What makes this particular story a bit different from the rest is the fact that this young man and his girlfriend both struggle with disabilities. Some would say this pregnancy should be terminated, this baby should be aborted. After all, what kind of life will this child have? There simply is no hope for this child. But we know that in Christ there is HOPE! The young man's grandfather stepped up and said he and his wife would help their grandson raise the child. So the young lady continue with the pregnancy and a beautiful baby boy was born. Because of difficulties during pregnancy the baby boy was born at a low birth weight and unable to suck. Through much prayer and an excellent medical team, little one was able to come home after 6 weeks. The little guy is now thriving! Daddy works full time and cares for the needs of his son. He comes faithfully to the Center for fatherhood classes and meets with one of our male mentors. Mom has just started attending parenting classes. we are proud of them for wanting to be the best parents the can be! All life is valuable!

One of our most recent stories of hope is about a Mom who went from 6 weeks pregnant to celebrating the birth of her sweet baby girl!

When she found out she was pregnant and would probably be alone in raising her child, she was depressed and anxious. The father of the baby was pushing for her to have an abortion. She felt alone, stressed and judged.

She then made the life-changing decision to come to Shine Women’s Center! Over the next 7 months she showed up to meet with our Advocates, learn all about what her baby was experiencing inside the womb and how she can become a great Mom! We were also able to pray for her and walk alongside her throughout the entire pregnancy.

We heard from her just last week and she and her sweet baby girl are happy and healthy!
